  • M.A. in Counseling - Liberty University
  • B.S. in Christian Education - Grace University
About Matt
Matt received his Masters degree in Marriage & Family Therapy from Liberty University in 2007.   He interned at Family Foundations of Iowa and began building his practice there.  He learned a great deal during his time with that organization.  In the Summer of 2011 the doors were opened to begin his own Independent Counseling Practice with Liberty Counseling!  He is very excited about the opportunities that are before him.

Matt applies the principles and truths that he has learned through 13 years of Youth Ministry with Youth for Christ/ USA; Bible College Education at Grace University (Omaha) where he received his Bachelors Degree, as well as the life lessons he has learned in his 45 years experiencing life issues.

As a Counselor, Matt believes that his strengths lie in the comfort that clients feel when they first enter his office.  Matt believes that God has designed his life for this profession/ministry because of the peace that he has as he integrates the truths of Scripture with many of the more effective counseling techniques available to him.  He truly loves what he does and believes it comes through as his clients share some of their most difficult struggles and trials that they are living through.

Whether a person is looking for help with their Marriage/ Family issues or struggles they have with Depression or Anxiety,  Matt promotes the fact that there is hope, and reassures them that there are solutions on their horizon. He has worked for the past five years honing his counseling skill through more than 5000 hours with clients as well as being supervised for State Licensure.  He honestly believes that the bulk of his clients feel that their time in Therapy has been very beneficial in their Marriage, or personal issues.  Matt tries to keep the number of sessions limited, meaning no more than is needed (12-16 sessions) is typical although some cases require more intensive work.

She believes that in giving clients a voice in the process of developing treatment plans and goals, consideration can be provided for their own unique gifts, abilities, and needs.

Susanne served beside her husband in ministry for 15 years and experienced first hand the many situations individuals and families are often faced with. It was in reaching out to hurting women, adolescents and children during this time that Susanne developed a passion for working with the unique challenges and struggles these individuals are faced with. As a result of dealing with and working through her own painful life experiences, Susanne desires to see individuals set free from their own pain, trauma, and woundedness. She seeks to provide a safe place in which others can feel comfortable in sharing their own unique journey. In doing so, individuals can begin to find greater strength, healing, and freedom to live the life they so long for.
